Over the past thirty years, giraffe populations have experienced a precipitous decline, plummeting by an alarming 40%, with certain regions of Africa witnessing their complete disappearance. The proceeds generated from the sale of Remembering Giraffes will be channeled directly into vital protection projects across the continent. This marks the eleventh installment in the successful "Remembering Wildlife" series, which, since its inception in 2016, has amassed over $1.64 million, distributing these funds to 82 conservation initiatives across 35 nations. Margot Raggett MBE, the founder and producer of Remembering Wildlife, expressed her profound appreciation for the global photographic community, stating that the submissions from around the world have brilliantly captured the essence of giraffes in their natural environments. The book is scheduled for publication on October 12, 2026, and will feature an array of captivating images showcasing all four species of giraffe, contributed by some of the world's most renowned wildlife photographers, including this year's competition judges, Wim van den Heever and Daryl Balfour. Notable images include 'Giraffe & Moon' by Kyle Goetsch, captured in NamibRand, Namibia; 'A Tender Moment – Newborn Giraffe' by Eric Albright in Kenya's Olare Motorogi Conservancy; and 'Giants on the move' by Ivan Glaser from Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya, depicting a cheetah's attempt to hunt a young giraffe.
